Salvation Army - Oasis Youth Support Network

The Oasis Youth Support Network is the Salvation Army’s response to youth homelessness in Sydney. Representing the most disadvantaged and damaged youth in our society, it aims to build relationships and trust with these people and assist them in moving from the streets to independent living and employment.

The Sony Foundation Australia supports the Oasis Youth Support Network’s Streetradio.net initiative, a fully equipped 24 hour radio station broadcast via the internet with programs researched, scripted and presented by disadvantaged, disconnected and homeless young people.

The support of the Sony Foundation Australia has allowed Streetradio.net to provide training, skills, work experience and, in some cases, future employment opportunities. The program helps disadvantaged youth get their lives back on track with a process that begins with trying to restore self esteem, confidence, hope and a sense of worth.
