Heart FoundationWith the increasing focus on children′s health, and growing concerns about childhood obesity, the National Heart Founda′s ‘Jump Rope for Heart′ program promotes physical activity in school-aged children. The program is not only great fun but it also teaches children about the importance of heart health and being active, as well as community service through fundraising.
To assist with the promotion of the Jump Rope for Heart program, highly trained Demonstration Teams made up of committed students and their coaches perform at other schools and community events around the country, inspiring and motivating others to be active and have fun skipping.
The formation of these teams is made possible with the support of the Sony Foundation Australia. Nearly 800 schools were able to see one of these demonstrations in the last year, with appearances at a further 250 wider community events such as providing half-time entertainment at interstate netball games and an NRL semi final and performing on Channel 7′s Sunrise.
